Job Summary

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order in our community, upholding the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States of America, and protecting the citizens of Montgomery County.

Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Sheriff, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Enforcing laws and regulations, and maintaining order in our community;
  • Providing support to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies;
  • Conducting investigations and gathering evidence to support criminal cases;
  • Testifying in court and providing expert testimony;
  • Participating in community outreach and education programs;
  • Collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices;
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest laws, regulations, and procedures;
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all activities and incidents;
  • Providing exceptional customer service to the public and other stakeholders;
  • Working effectively in a team environment and contributing to a positive and inclusive work culture.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Be at least 21 years old;
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license;
  • Pass a thorough background investigation and psychological evaluation;
  • Complete a 19-week Deputy Sheriff Training Program at the Pennsylvania State College;
  • Meet the physical fitness requirements for the position;
  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays;
  • Be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects;
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
