About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF/Microwave Engineer to join our Kuiper Government Solutions team. As a key member of our Solutions Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and fast-paced analysis and design solutions for our customers.

As a Senior RF/Microwave Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a variety of tasks, from RF board design and component selection to layout review and board bring-up and test. You will work closely with our cross-discipline teams to ensure high-quality and innovative designs are pursued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into technically robust solutions backed by data and analysis
  • Responsible for implementation of RF wireless system and physical layer performance of multiple wireless components
  • Responsible for designing RF and communications payloads on a commercial bus and terrestrial ground terminals
  • Identify top-level customer requirements and ensure high-quality and innovative designs are pursued
  • Develop RF link budget, frequency planning, filter requirements definition, and RF test validation plans
  • Perform RF design and layout trade studies for satellite RF and Microwave sub-systems in the Ka/K range
  • Facilitate cost trades on multiple parallel configurations for cost/manufacturability vs design uncertainty
  • Deliver well-written documentation, reports, and presentations for technical design reviews and as part of proposal efforts
  • Design and support test campaigns, both development and qualification/acceptance, for space hardware
  • Utilize RF analysis tools including ADS, HFSS, MO, and SystemVue

This role is located in Northridge, CA, and includes US relocation benefits. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI, so you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

Basic Qualifications

Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

Experience with the project management of technical projects
