Job Summary:

The Clinical Support Specialist RN will provide guidance and education to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty. This role will support high-quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform rounds on each nursing unit to observe and assess the quality of patient care.
  • Identify nursing educational needs and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide feedback on nursing assessments, care planning, and patient evaluations.
  • Assist with performing or troubleshooting specific skills.
  • Maintain IMobile phone for easy contact by new graduates or nurses within scope of support.
  • Track requests to identify commonly requested skills for orientation and education.
  • Foster teamwork and contribute to team goals.

Requirements:

  • RN licensure active in state of Colorado or an active compact license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Two or more years' experience in ICU as a RN.
  • One or more years' experience as a preceptor.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 30 days.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 12 months.
  • Business Emergency Response Training (BERT) within 90 days.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 90 days.
  • Preceptor Training within 90 days.
