Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on a private fleet within a clean and safe workshop environment.
  • Inspect and operate machinery to identify defects and issues.
  • Ensure equipment availability by executing preventive maintenance schedules, installing upgrades, and conducting winterization procedures.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repair brake and air conditioning systems as necessary.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment.
  • Replace damaged or worn components as needed.
  • Assess vehicle performance through test drives.
  • Maintain shop equipment by adhering to operating instructions, troubleshooting failures, and managing supplies.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle regulations by testing engine performance and safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A complete set of tools is essential for this position.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Possession of a Class B CDL or willingness to obtain one.
  • Basic understanding of diesel trucks, air brake systems, and other technical knowledge.
  • Experience with tooling, supply management, and mechanical inspection tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills within the department while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to track all serviced vehicles.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential, with the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to different locations using a company vehicle.
