Position OverviewThe Plant Engineer plays a crucial role within the engineering and maintenance teams, focusing on enhancing plant operations, fostering continuous improvement, and optimizing processes. We seek a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic setting and is eager to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities- Operations: Enhance operational performance, minimize waste, and support growth initiatives.
- Oversee engineering aspects of production optimization for site processes.
- Assist production teams in troubleshooting, including data collection and analysis.
- Develop digital tools to boost site efficiency.
- Identify, develop, and implement capital projects aimed at improving safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage and report on plant maintenance budgets and expenditures.
- Implement projects to reduce costs and energy consumption while enhancing productivity.
- Lead process optimization efforts in collaboration with other departments.
- Conduct continuous improvement activities, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenance.
Our goal is to ensure that all employees return home safely each day. The Plant Engineer will:
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the site.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards and participate in Management of Change processes.
- Engage in incident investigations and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Support the creation and implementation of environmental programs and ensure permit compliance.
- Recommend strategies for waste reduction and process improvements.
Fostering a strong team environment is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the professional growth and development of team members.
- Facilitating safety, environmental, and technical training.
- Recognizing outstanding performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Encouraging continuous improvement and alignment with corporate goals.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery, or equivalent industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene regulations.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with team members at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative.
- Proven leadership abilities and capacity to foster team engagement.
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required.
