Position Overview

The Plant Engineer plays a crucial role within the engineering and maintenance teams, focusing on enhancing plant operations, fostering continuous improvement, and optimizing processes. We seek a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic setting and is eager to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations: Enhance operational performance, minimize waste, and support growth initiatives.
  • Oversee engineering aspects of production optimization for site processes.
  • Assist production teams in troubleshooting, including data collection and analysis.
  • Develop digital tools to boost site efficiency.
  • Identify, develop, and implement capital projects aimed at improving safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and report on plant maintenance budgets and expenditures.
  • Implement projects to reduce costs and energy consumption while enhancing productivity.
  • Lead process optimization efforts in collaboration with other departments.
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenance.
Environmental Health & Safety:

Our goal is to ensure that all employees return home safely each day. The Plant Engineer will:

  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards and participate in Management of Change processes.
  • Engage in incident investigations and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Support the creation and implementation of environmental programs and ensure permit compliance.
  • Recommend strategies for waste reduction and process improvements.
Associate Engagement:

Fostering a strong team environment is essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the professional growth and development of team members.
  • Facilitating safety, environmental, and technical training.
  • Recognizing outstanding performance and providing constructive feedback.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery, or equivalent industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with team members at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative.
  • Proven leadership abilities and capacity to foster team engagement.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
