Archival Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Archival Specialist to join our team at Library Systems & Services LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating finding aids for unprocessed collection materials and collaborating with other project staff to integrate them into systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze collection materials to complete full-level archival description
  • Develop finding aids for unprocessed collection materials
  • Collaborate with other project staff to integrate finding aids into systems
  • Ensure that finding aids meet standards for quality and usability
Requirements:
  • Master's in Library and Information Science with a concentration in records and archives
  • At least 1-2 years of experience processing archival collections, including preparation of DACS compliant finding aids
  • Familiarity with archival standards and best practices, including DACS, EADS
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of and experience with medical archival materials
