Key Responsibilities- Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.
- Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
- Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.
- Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment.
- Modifying clinical interventions based on population served.
- Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
- Anticipating the surgeon's needs.
- Following appropriate action in emergency situations.
- Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant, LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant, or Surgical Technologist training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date).
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire.
- 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience.
