Position Purpose:
The role involves overseeing a team of field personnel in delivering services that ensure the safe disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This includes coordinating subcontractors and field staff according to job specifications and regulatory standards. The position also entails providing guidance and training to field service employees, preparing project estimates, proposals, and assisting with contract preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage teams, including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant governmental regulations and internal policies.
- Identify and act on opportunities to enhance value-added services for clients.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when addressing client inquiries and proposing solutions to issues.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures as per departmental guidelines.
- Ensure the accuracy and completion of all required documentation related to DOT/EPA and internal regulations.
- Complete all mandatory training as required by OSHA and the company.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of equipment to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in hazardous waste management.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of disposal capabilities and limitations to ensure efficient waste management.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
- Customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to follow through on projects until completion.
- Thorough knowledge of contract provisions and terms.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to create and prepare necessary reports.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
- A valid Driver's License is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) is required.
- Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER Training is necessary.
