Job Summary

As a Police Dispatcher for the Granite School District, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and community. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and respond to emergency calls and dispatch police officers as needed
  • Monitor and respond to alarms and other security systems
  • Provide support and assistance to police officers and other district staff as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents and activities
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective communication and response to emergencies
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training in computer entry and retrieval, word processing, and radio procedure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year environment, with frequent interruptions and a high level of concentration required. The Granite Police Department is a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year operation, and the position of Police Dispatcher must always be staffed.
