Position: AV Installation Specialist
Summary:
The AV Installation Specialist is tasked with the deployment of audiovisual technology. This role encompasses the technical setup and oversight of AV systems, which includes the construction of equipment racks, site readiness, as well as the termination and calibration of audio and visual devices. Additionally, this position involves the implementation of control systems and video conferencing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze schematics and execute the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial audiovisual projects.
- Manage cable pulling and ensure the secure mounting of devices such as projectors, screens, microphones, and speakers.
- Assemble equipment racks and control interfaces.
- Connect and finalize cable terminations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to systems, equipment, and cabling failures.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment details, including serial numbers and IP addresses.
- Ensure cleanliness at client locations.
- Organize and maintain tools and supplies in vehicles.
- Adhere to safety protocols and site regulations.
- Prepare daily work documentation.
- Be available for after-hours support as needed.
- Participate in site meetings upon request.
- Willingness to travel, including overnight and weekend assignments.
- Occasionally manage inventory shipments.
- Operate a forklift (certification provided if necessary).
- Record time and attendance in the company system.
Qualifications:
- Experience in audiovisual installations for venues such as performance spaces, religious institutions, corporate meeting rooms, video walls, and sports facilities.
- Familiarity with audiovisual cabling, switchers, routers, and connectors is preferred.
- Experience with soldering.
- Basic skills in mechanical work, carpentry, or construction, including measuring, leveling, drilling, and labeling wires using appropriate tools.
- Proficient in Windows/MS Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record as per company policy.
- Fluency in English is required.
- A strong passion for audiovisual technology, ideally being the go-to person for AV assistance among peers.
- Excellent communication skills for effective information exchange.
- Ability to manage time effectively and maintain productivity while working independently, sometimes offsite.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor on job sites, with clients, and in the office environment.
Work Schedule:
Standard hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential for overtime.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $25.
