Position Overview: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), also referred to as a Speech Therapist (ST), plays a crucial role in assessing and addressing speech and language challenges faced by our clients. This professional will utilize a variety of diagnostic tools to evaluate an individual's communication abilities and will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to formulate effective treatment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech therapy services in alignment with the established care plan.
  • Assess the functional capabilities of participants.
  • Contribute to the creation of personalized therapy plans.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress effectively.
  • Engage in committees that foster interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Uphold a professional representation of Better Life Home Health through all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and standard practices.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize resources responsibly and efficiently.
  • Promote the organization through active participation in community initiatives.
  • Continuously enhance personal professional skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or a related field.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Current licensure in Speech Therapy.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Speech Therapist.
  • A minimum of 1 year working with elderly populations.
  • Experience with clients diagnosed with dementia is preferred.
Skills:
  • Proficient understanding of speech therapy methodologies.
  • Experience in rehabilitation strategies to enhance communication.
  • Knowledge of geriatric care practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for serving the geriatric community.
  • Awareness of safety considerations for individuals with speech and language impairments.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required prior to patient interaction.
