We are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Mederi Caretenders Gainesville, a part of LHC Group. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients overcome speech and language disorders, and functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders, and functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to improve and enhance patient well-being.
- Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing the practice of speech therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other members of the health care team.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Consult with physicians in the development of therapy plans of care.
- Treat patients' speech production, fluency, language, cognition, voice, resonance, swallowing, and auditory habilitation/rehabilitation using evidence-based standards of practice.
- Observe, record, and report to the nurse supervisor and/or physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in areas of therapy within the scope of speech-language pathology.
- Visit patients within the entire service area of their respective agency and other nearby LHC agencies as needed.
- Current licensure in Speech Therapy.
- Current CPR certification.
- A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
