Position Overview:

The Cashier for Nutritional Services PRN plays a crucial role in managing the cash register operations within the cafeteria, adhering to both departmental and hospital cash handling protocols to ensure the security and accurate accounting of funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Efficiently operates the electronic cash register, accurately processing transactions, collecting payments, and providing correct change to customers.
  2. Records meal charges for physicians or other departments using employee ID badges or meal cards.
  3. Prepares for meal services by securing the necessary cash and coins for customer transactions and maintaining accurate cash records.
  4. Completes daily cash register reports, ensuring all forms are filled out correctly and departmental records for cafeteria sales are maintained.
  5. Fosters positive relationships with both internal and external customers through courteous and precise meal sales transactions.
  6. Ensures the cash drawer is balanced and follows established procedures to secure and account for all funds at the end of each shift.
  7. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required, or prior cashier experience is acceptable.

Licensure/Certification:

Must possess a current City of Fort Worth Food Handlers Certification or have completed an ANSI accredited Food Handlers Certificate Program.
