As we expand our operations, we are in search of skilled and dedicated professionals to join our team. We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to enhance our workforce.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in maintaining and repairing construction heavy machinery, including but not limited to sweepers, milling machines, and road striping equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of construction equipment, ranging from light-duty to heavy-duty machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as they occur.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with operational manuals and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
- Utilize hand and power tools to remove and replace defective components.
- Test repaired machinery to verify optimal performance.
- Fabricate, weld, and cut parts using arc-welding and flame cutting tools.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of machinery.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and company policies.
- Conduct DOT inspections as required.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Relevant degree or certifications in mechanics or a related field.
- Experience in welding and fabrication.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience is required.
- Possession of a valid Class B Driver's License with a clean driving record; Class A License preferred (Haz Mat endorsement or the ability to obtain one is advantageous).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana use.
- Experience with diesel engines, DOT regulations, and hydraulic systems.
- Manual dexterity and coordination are essential.
- Capability to lift and transport over 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including harsh weather.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Must provide basic hand tools; specialty tools will be supplied by the company.
Compensation Package:
Union wages along with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, pension plans, and paid sick leave.
Work Environment:
This position involves outdoor work with some local travel. Employees may be exposed to diverse weather conditions, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials such as solvents, adhesives, paints, and hot oil. Typical workdays may exceed 8 hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, including potential nights and weekends.
