Job Summary

St. Luke's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, and referrals to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription as needed.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and institutions to meet patient's healthcare needs.
  • Provide high-quality healthcare services based on best practice and/or evidenced-based medicine.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as appropriate and aligned with granted clinical privileges.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Participate in the research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines.
  • Teach multidisciplinary students and physician residents & fellows, ensuring a positive educational environment.
  • Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients.
  • Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
  • Teach wellness habits and educate patients on prevention of potential health problems or method of dealing with present problems.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Physician Assistant with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
  • Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, stand for up to 8 hours per day, and walk for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds and rarely lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of an object through touch, hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies, and see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to speak as it relates to normal conversation and projection as it relates to lectures and presentations.
