PET CARE HOTEL ASSOCIATE
ABOUT OUR FACILITY:
At PetSmart, we believe that working here is more than just a job; it's a community of individuals dedicated to the well-being of pets. As a Pet Care Hotel Associate, your role will be to ensure that pets receive the utmost care and affection while they enjoy their time with us. You will foster relationships with pet owners to discuss their pets' distinct personalities and provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere during their stay. Our Hotels provide various shifts throughout the early morning, daytime, evening, and overnight hours.
ABOUT OUR TEAM:
In a facility as expansive as ours, we require every member to contribute to our operational success. As a PetSmart associate, you may receive training in the following areas:
- Customer Interaction: You will be the welcoming presence that greets pets and creates a positive first impression in our Pet Hotels. You will guide pet owners on the various services and solutions we offer to create a tailored experience for their pets.
- Pet Supervision: It’s not all work and no play here You will engage directly with the pets—playing with them during Doggie Day Camp, ensuring they get plenty of exercise, and making sure they are well-fed. Safety and cleanliness are our top priorities, and we maintain these standards throughout their day of fun.
ABOUT YOUR CAREER PATH:
While we support pets at every stage of their lives, we are also committed to your career development. At PetSmart, you will have opportunities to:
- Gain experience across different business units—from the Pet Hotel to retail and grooming.
- Enhance your leadership abilities as a Pet Hotel Assistant Manager or Retail Store Department Manager.
- Take on the challenge of opening a new hotel or revitalizing a struggling location.
- Transfer to any of our 1600 locations nationwide, noting that not all stores feature Pet Hotels.
THE REWARDING EXPERIENCES:
While we have outlined the responsibilities of the role, the most fulfilling aspects of working at PetSmart are often beyond what can be described in a job listing:
- It’s the joy you feel when assisting a child in selecting their very first pet fish.
- It’s the relief a pet owner experiences when you help them choose the right food for their pet’s sensitive stomach.
- It’s the pride in giving a pet a makeover in our grooming salons and watching them strut out confidently.
- It’s the happiness of reuniting a pet with their family after a delightful stay in our Pet Hotel.
- It’s the celebration of special moments like a pet’s birthday or graduation from training classes.
- It’s the small gestures we provide that culminate in significant impacts on pets' lives.
Working at PetSmart is not merely a job; it’s a community of individuals united by a shared passion for pets.
This job summary aims to describe the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this role. It is not intended to encompass all duties and responsibilities. A detailed job description will be provided upon hiring.
The pay range for this position in California is between $16.00 and $28.09 per hour. The exact pay rate will depend on the store location, position, and level of experience. PetSmart will not pay less than the minimum wage, and this position is eligible for benefits as outlined.
