About the Job

The Network Administrator position at Angenex is responsible for the successful design, development, maintenance, and support of the network. This role is part of the Company team and requires a strong understanding of computer networks and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining computer networks and systems, including VPNs, Fortigate Firewalls, Switches, and other physical hardware and software.
  • Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues.
  • Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.
  • Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users.
  • Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.
  • Providing IT system administration support, including network troubleshooting.
  • Performing Firewall and Network Equipment updates as directed by policy.
  • Responding to IT help desk requests and monitoring system alerts promptly and effectively.
  • Escalating open issues when delays or problems are encountered.
  • User training documentation creation and maintenance.
  • Miscellaneous IT documentation.
  • Project lead for miscellaneous projects as assigned.
  • Participating in project planning and meeting project milestones and deliverables.
  • Documenting design, development, changes, and support issues; tracking time and resources used.
  • Taking on the lead technical role in assigned areas, acquiring expertise in the relevant applications, technologies, and business use of IT.
  • Cross-training other associates in new and changed applications, and in relevant areas where you have expertise.
  • Investigating business processes in areas you work with, to identify improvements, and potential new IT tools or applications.
Requirements
  • A degree in Information Technology, a related technical or management field, or equivalent experience and training.
  • 1 year of experience in Networking, Firewalls, and HA/Failover administration.
  • Fortinet certifications are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Installation and configuration of hardware, including but not limited to servers, routers, and switches.
  • Upgrading, maintaining, and repairing company computer networks.
  • Troubleshooting network issues after analyzing and isolating them.
  • Designing network models.
  • Implementing security measures to protect company and user data, monitoring networks to ensure their availability to specific users, and maintaining the integrity of the network and server deployment.
  • Installing and supporting internet, intranet, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments.
  • Monitoring the performance of various network servers, such as file servers, intrusion detection systems, and VPN gateways.
  • Knowledge of Windows domains, how they interact at the user/workstation levels.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux server, and Windows Workstation operating systems.
  • Extensive networking knowledge, including DNS, IP/subnets, netstat, NAT, Wireshark/TCPdump.
  • Basic registry editing.
  • Basic PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrating dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Good follow-through on projects and deliverables.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
