Network Administrator

Job Summary

ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to join our team at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center. This role will be responsible for maintaining and improving all networking equipment in a mixed Linux and Windows based environment within the Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain network hardware, including servers, routers, and switches.
  • Manage firewalls and load balancers to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
  • Upgrade and repair computer networks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot network issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Assist network architects in designing network models to meet business needs.
  • Deploy and update software to ensure compatibility and security.
  • Manage servers and their operating systems to ensure efficient and secure operations.
  • Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Develop and implement test processes and procedures to ensure network reliability.
  • Perform testing to ensure network integrity and security.
  • Manage cloud and physical network storage to ensure data security and availability.
  • Create and update network-related documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Attend and lead meetings, design reviews, working groups, and briefings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Report issues and problems and recommend solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Perform RMLS Field Support 24x7 as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field OR Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and sixteen (16) years related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR PhD or Doctorial in a related field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and six (6) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Located at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center
  • Some lifting may be involved
