Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Field Technician to join our team at QE Solar. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing ongoing field services support to our solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair system failures, identify and correct potential issues that may impact site performance, and perform regular preventative maintenance on a variety of solar, battery storage, and other project equipment.
  • Site Inspections and Compliance: Conduct routine site inspections, ensure compliance with safety requirements and regulations, and maintain accurate records of site visits and maintenance activities.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs, equipment modifications, and equipment improvement investigations, and provide timely and complete written and oral communication to technical leads, project leads/managers, and third-party sub-contractors.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with technical leads, project leads/managers, and third-party sub-contractors to ensure timely resolution to all required activities, support recommended performance improvements, and address site safety and compliance concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or Technical School Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 0-2+ years of specialist, technical experience with solar projects, battery storage, or other renewable systems, and experience with data acquisition systems.
  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge: Inverter and/or battery storage manufacturers' certifications, thermography certifications, IT/networking skills, NABCEP PV Installer Certification, OSHA 10/30 Certification, and completion of NFPA 70E courses.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Lift: Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to Move: Ability to move safely over uneven terrain.
  • Ability to Sit or Drive: Ability to sit or drive for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to Climb: Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 50 pounds.
  • Ability to Work in Extreme Weather: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Travel Requirements
  • Regional and National Travel: Extensive travel regionally and occasionally nationally to meet client field operation's needs.
