Produce Manager Job Description

At Sprouts Farmers Market, we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Produce Manager to lead our produce department. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the highest quality produce is delivered to our customers while maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the sales and operation of the produce department, including inventory management and quality control.
  • Lead a team of produce team members, providing coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions to ensure their success.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age and 1-3 years of experience working in a grocery retail setting with management experience in produce.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
  • Ability to perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
  • Adherence to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
  • Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
