The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering patient care within the Med/Surg/Oncology department. This part-time position involves working night shifts, specifically from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with a rotation that includes weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
The LPN is responsible for both direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Key duties include:
1. **Direct Patient Care**: Assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), administering medications, and performing phlebotomy.
2. **Indirect Patient Care**: Involves tasks such as order transcription, documentation, and reinforcing education for patients and their families.
3. **Collaboration**: Working alongside other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program or a non-accredited program with three years of relevant nursing experience.
- Hold a valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) issued by the appropriate licensing authority.
