Position Overview: The PSE Energy Resources team is seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead the execution of multidisciplinary Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role emphasizes electrical design and requires a balance of engineering, business development, and project management skills. We are looking for a proactive and innovative professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer large-scale PV solar systems and energy storage projects ranging from 5MW to over 100MW.
  • Provide expert guidance to utilities on integrating renewable energy resources into their infrastructure.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging technologies that influence the future of energy systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering construction documents and detailed equipment specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and processes.
  • Coordinate design efforts across multiple teams and locations.
  • Occasionally visit project sites to collect essential data.
  • Engage in writing technical papers and reports.
  • Conduct various system studies, including load flow and short circuit analyses.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders effectively.
  • Ensure quality assurance in design work through established QA/QC methods.
  • Mentor and train junior engineering staff.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing utility-scale solar PV and/or energy storage systems.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one in a timely manner.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, and SEL Relays.
  • Familiarity with design codes such as NEC and International Building Codes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a focus on prioritization.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • NABCEP certification or willingness to obtain it.
