Deaf Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Deaf Mentor. As a member of our Connections Youth Program, you will play a vital role in supporting families with children who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing.

• Collaborate with families to determine and achieve program goals.
• Support families' communication opportunities with their child, including all communication approaches.
• Provide relevant information, resources, and advocacy as needed.
• Teach sign language and early literacy techniques to participants.
• Outreach to parents and professionals regarding the Connections Youth Program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• BA degree in social work, psychology, counseling, early childhood education, or related field.
• Must be Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing.
• Flexibility with scheduling sessions.
• Knowledge of assistive technology for effective communication.
• Ability to be inclusive, open-minded, and supportive of family decisions.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to promote and adhere to agency values.
