Critical Care Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at South Peninsula Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform various medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines, administering medications, and performing ECGs.
- Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alaska.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the ICU specialty.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
- TNCC certification within 6 months of hire.
Work Environment:
South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed critical access hospital and 28-bed long-term care facility located in Homer, Alaska. The ICU is a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring the ability to work effectively in a team setting and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure situation.
