Project Engineer

About the Role:

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. This opportunity will be based in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will provide acquisition engineering production support (material and labor) for the assembly of cables and sub-assemblies that provide remediation of equipment failures, completion of incomplete assemblies, and/or replacement of SSDS MK2 production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement acquisition recommendations based on independent analyses.
  • Perform drawing development tasks and technical reviews to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Manage configuration management (CM) duties for various Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct quality checks on government TDPs and drawings to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Update drawings per government redlines to prepare for final release.
  • Assist with assembling hardware kits required to implement approved Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) into SSDS MK2 hardware enclosures and subassemblies.
  • Oversee SSDS production work and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
Requirements:

  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Project and Excel).
  • Must have experience working with SSDS or shipboard systems.
  • Must have work experience with AutoCAD and Inventor Software.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with SSDS, Navy, and/or shipboard systems.
  • Engineering or Technical Degree.
  • Direct work experience with Dam Neck Annex Base.
Security and Travel Requirements:

  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
  • Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
  • Occasional Travel- less than 10%.
Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
  • Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
