Job Title: Head Coach - eSports

St. Charles Community College (SCC) is seeking a part-time Head Coach - eSports to lead our eSport programs. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for the administration of all aspects of the eSport programs, including coaching, recruiting, student-athlete mentoring, and ensuring program compliance with the NJCAA, MCCAC, and College rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Achieve a high level of competence in sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions.
  • Provide effective sport instruction during meets.
  • Recruit student-athletes effectively under the direction of the Athletic Director.
  • Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NJCAA, MCCAC, College, and the Department of Athletics Code of Conduct.
  • Achieve competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence.
  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in the social, emotional, academic development, as well as the athletic welfare of student-athletes.
  • Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuing sport program goals established by the Athletic Director.
  • Exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes.
  • Complete all assignments given by the Director of Athletics, including but not limited to recruitment and fundraising.
  • Participate in department meetings and workshops to increase professional skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships within the Athletic Department and with the rest of the college community.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Coaching experience at the college level (head/assistant), head or assistant coach at the senior high school level, or as a college or professional player.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational, promotional, recruitment, fundraising, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of PrestoSports.
  • Experience with NJCAA compliance matters.
  • Experience with NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
