About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pulsed Power Engineer to join our team at Scientific Applications & Research Associates (SARA), Inc. in Colorado Springs, CO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-power switching technologies, pulsed forming networks, and high-voltage insulation systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test complex electromagnetic systems
  • Develop and implement SPICE simulations and protection/filtering circuits
  • Conduct hands-on testing and analysis of high-power equipment
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary engineering teams to drive innovation and growth
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Pulsed Power, Power Electronics, High Power Solid-State Switching, Applied Electromagnetics, or High Voltage engineering
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in technical briefings and team management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on quality and safety
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Power Electronics, Pulsed Power, High Power Microwaves, High Power RF, EMI Protection, or High Power Solid-State Switching and Packaging
  • Experience with FDTD EM and Multiphysics simulation codes, preferably with COMSOL Multiphysics Simulation Software
  • Experience with data processing software, including Excel, MATLAB, Python, Mathcad, and Origin
  • Active DoD TS or DoE Q clearance
