Job Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist at St. Joseph Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient respiratory conditions and develop personalized therapy plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Set up and maintain respiratory equipment, administer prescribed medications, and provide patient education on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory therapy techniques, technologies, and evidence-based practices to provide cutting-edge care.
  • Document patient assessments, therapy plans, and outcomes to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient records.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner accepted by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Strong technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care and communication.
  • Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Other certification requirements as defined by the certification policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
