Job Overview

Position Title: Director of Human Resources
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Department: Administration/Human Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt/D
Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 annually
Program Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for orchestrating, guiding, and enhancing the policies, initiatives, training, and personnel of the Human Resources division, ensuring adherence to legal standards while supporting the mission and strategic objectives of the Exceptional Children's Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the execution of human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and training.
  • Partner with senior leadership to formulate strategies for staffing, recruitment, and employee retention, while providing guidance on HR-related inquiries.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits and maintain effective communication with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
  • Develop and implement practices to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, addressing concerns and coordinating investigations as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, reviewing and updating policies to reflect best practices.
  • Establish and maintain standards for record-keeping related to human resource documentation.
  • Stay informed on trends and changes in human resources and employment law, facilitating professional development for HR staff.
Additional Duties
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Oversee departmental workflow and budget management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Director-level HR role within a comparable organization. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is advantageous.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor HR personnel.
