Description Position Overview:
This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year.
The Department is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty Member to provide a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. The successful candidate will report to a dean or chair and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.College/Department Overview:

Professional Services Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include supervision of student teachers, working with mentor teachers, principals, coordinator of clinical experiences, and the director of teacher education to provide support for student teachers.
The successful candidate will conduct a minimum of three supervision visits with each student teacher assigned per semester. They will guide and direct completion of all tasks, report student progress through observation, assessment, and evaluation, and assist with improvements when needed. They will also assist with difficulties, concerns, and problems of assigned student teachers, principals, and mentor teachers. The adjunct instructor will attend meetings scheduled by direct supervisor, interact in a collegial manner with all persons involved in the student teaching experience, and follow all policies, procedures, and timelines established. They will also respect a diverse student and faculty population with the school sites served, monitor effectiveness of partnership schools where students are assigned, and attend to other duties as assigned. The adjunct instructor will prepare and teach the assigned class following a syllabus guideline, maintain appropriate records, assign earned grades, report needed data to the department, and complete all necessary department assessment information.Qualifications Experience Required:
Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. A current certification in the State of Oklahoma and minimum of five years teaching experience within public school settings is required.
Experience Preferred:
Prior experience in school administration or in the supervision of teachers (principal, department chair, etc.) is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Professionally qualified. Will this employee supervise others?No, this employee will NOT supervise other employees.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
