MDS Coordinator

The MDS Coordinator is a key member of our care team at Regency Care of Arlington, responsible for overseeing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process to ensure timely and accurate completion of care plans. This full-time position reports to the facility administrator and requires strong communication skills to work with nursing staff for implementation of care plans.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversees the RAI process to ensure schedules are followed and care plans are developed in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
• Communicates with nursing staff to implement care plans and ensures that care plans are kept current and reflective of resident needs.
• Verifies that assessments are transmitted to the database with necessary corrections and educates staff on ADLs and other areas of MDS as needed.
• Reviews the MDS for accuracy and identifies trends that require education or correction.
• Monitors documentation of Medicare and managed care residents and educates as needed.
• Participates in Quality Improvement programs and provides leadership in the facility for financial implications of RUGS, PPS, and case mix rates.
Requirements
• RN degree from an accredited college (minimum ASN)
• Currently registered in the state
• AANAC certification
• Current CPR certification
• 2-4 years of work experience in MDS and long-term care
• Point Click Care experience preferred
