About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF-based electronics for human spaceflight, working collaboratively with our engineering team.
  • Analyze and simulate RF electronics circuits for avionics electronics, ensuring high-quality and reliable performance.
  • Develop and implement EMI/EMC principles and applications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations, to optimize design and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop documentation to support analysis, component deratings, and design reviews, ensuring clear and concise communication with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Interface and communicate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive decisions and resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes.
  • Familiarize yourself with designing for a radiation-tolerant environment and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline (graduate degree preferred) with 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or a combined equivalent of education and experience.
  • Experience modeling RF and system losses, such as nonlinear distortion, phase noise, and group delay.
  • Experience with wireless communications and antenna design, as well as in-lab RF testing and measurement techniques.
  • Automotive and commercial electronics background welcome.
  • Success designing, developing, testing, and implementing electronics.
  • Understanding of analog control and discrete logic design, as well as design for fault tolerance and reliability.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft electrical systems and knowledge of radiation effects.
  • Understanding of PCB layout, PCBA manufacturing, component selection, and environmental qualifications.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to solve problems and identify original opportunities.
  • Shows commitment to inspiring others.
Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
