  • Evaluate credit reports and assist clients with fundamental credit concerns.
  • Assess income and asset documentation, including for self-employed individuals.
  • Guide first-time homebuyers through the purchasing process, which may involve participation in community educational programs.
  • Compile comprehensive and precise loan packages for processing in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with processing and underwriting teams to secure necessary documentation for loan approvals.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develop a referral network through external sales efforts and relationships with past clients, legal professionals, accountants, and real estate agents.
  • Represent the bank at community events to bolster its image and commitment to local service.
  • Adhere to all NMLS requirements for Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business or related field preferred, with a minimum of 2+ years of mortgage loan origination experience.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and consumer loan products, including investor guidelines.
  • Valid NMLS registration is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with banking and financial sectors, as well as current residential lending trends and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret financial documents such as tax returns and credit reports to provide informed advice to potential borrowers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and communication skills.
  • Experience with Encompass software is advantageous.
  • Professional demeanor and maturity in interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
