Role Summary:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in providing care to individuals with end-stage renal disease, assisting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process to ensure the delivery of prescribed therapies. Our PCTs are key members of the interdisciplinary team, dedicated to maintaining safe practices and achieving the highest quality outcomes for our patients.
Schedule:
Full-time, three 12-hour shifts; Sundays off; no overnight shifts.
Compensation:
Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $26, based on healthcare experience; prior experience is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities
- Guide new patients through a structured education plan
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and machine readings during treatments
- Work under the supervision of registered nurses
- Prepare and dismantle dialysis equipment for treatment
- Insert and remove patient access needles
- Observe patients during dialysis, noting any changes and communicating with the charge nurse
- Calculate and monitor patient weight loss to achieve target dry weight
- Prioritize patient care needs and manage workload effectively
- Maintain professional relationships while respecting patient privacy and rights
- Track and manage inventory
- Conduct laboratory work as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not essential
- Skills in CNA, EMT, medical assisting, CNT, or phlebotomy are advantageous
- DCI offers a comprehensive three-month training program, including both classroom instruction and hands-on skills training
- No prior dialysis experience is necessary; job shadowing opportunities are available
