Deputy Constable

Fort Bend County is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Constable to join our team. As a Deputy Constable, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing state and local laws.

• Serve civil papers and criminal warrants as directed
• Patrol County roads and residential areas to provide a visible deterrent and enforce laws
• Identify traffic hazards and monitor residential areas for signs of criminal activity
• Respond to calls for assistance and complaints of crimes
• Enforce state statute by performing warrants, felony or misdemeanor arrests, and implementing physical confrontation when necessary
• Secure and protect crime scenes, preserve and collect evidence, and maintain the chain of custody
• Prepare and maintain departmental records and reports
• May handle court security and building security duties

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic TCOLE certification
• One year of job-related experience (two years of college may substitute for experience)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public
• Valid Driver's License

Fort Bend County offers a competitive salary range of $33.76 hourly, based on qualifications. Full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS) and enjoy a wide range of great benefits.
