Job Summary:

As a Deputy Constable with Fort Bend County, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing state and local laws. This position requires a strong sense of justice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve civil papers and criminal warrants as directed by the court.
  • Patrol county roads and residential areas to provide a visible deterrent and enforce laws.
  • Identify and respond to traffic hazards, suspicious persons or vehicles, and crimes in progress.
  • Secure and protect crime scenes, preserve evidence, and maintain the chain of custody.
  • Enforce traffic laws, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental records and reports, including case files and incident reports.
  • Participate in emergency management activities and provide building security as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic TCOLE certification.
  • One year of job-related experience (two years of college may substitute for experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Benefits:

Fort Bend County offers a competitive salary range of $27.01 - $33.76 hourly, based on qualifications. Full-time employees also enjoy a wide range of benefits, including membership in the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
