Job Summary

The Bergen County Supportive Housing Program is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Supportive Housing Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support, staff supervision, and daily operations management for our supportive housing program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Bergen County Supportive Housing Program, ensuring seamless implementation of CSPNJ supportive housing policies and procedures.
  • Promote wellness, recovery, and community integration as foundational concepts for our wellness and recovery philosophy and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Bergen County Services Team to provide integrated services for wellness center attendees/members, housing tenants, and promote innovative and progressive peer-oriented services delivery.
  • Facilitate and participate in team outreach and engagement to identify potential housing applicants and engage them in the housing application process, housing search, leasing, and move-in.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health-related discipline.
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, assessment skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work in partnership with the Bergen County Community Wellness Center staff to promote an integrated services environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a mental health nonprofit setting.
  • Experience with real estate and knowledge of State and local housing regulations.
  • Ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
  • Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) or proficiency in Excel, MS Office products, and general computer literacy.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
What We Offer

Full-time 40 hours per week, benefit-eligible position, including 6 weeks of PTO and 11 holidays. Hourly rate: $28.85.
