Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Industrialization team at GE Vernova's Gas Power facility in Schenectady, NY. As a key member of a strategic engineering team, you will play a crucial role in taking products and processes from concept to operational stability, utilizing standard lean manufacturing principles for the factory.

In this role, you will collaborate across multiple organizations to design, develop, procure, install, and qualify new manufacturing equipment, delivering full production-ready processes. The Industrialization team will provide technical support and implement solutions for the Schenectady factory to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, procure, install, and qualify new manufacturing equipment, delivering full production-ready processes while project managing internal/external team members and vendors.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Instructions: Develop and maintain manufacturing instructions, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and provide input during the product development phase.
  • New Product Introduction: Manage New Product Introduction, including technical design review, tooling and equipment acquisition, and overall project schedule management of a cross-functional manufacturing, engineering, and materials team.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Automation and Technology: Identify opportunities for automation and implement advanced technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Production Process: Define and control production process, including tooling and equipment, and validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college (or high-school diploma/GED with relevant experience).
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a production manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Experience: Proven technical experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Project Management: Established project management skills, as well as consistent communication of project status/escalation points.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence others, and lead small teams.
  • Technical Skills: Technical print and specification reading and writing abilities.
