About the Role

Enviva is seeking a highly skilled Senior EHS Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our EHS initiatives and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, contractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of EHS professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular site audits and assessments to identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement effective EHS training programs to ensure employees, contractors, and vendors are equipped to work safely.
  • Collaborate with plant managers and directors to understand company needs and mission, and provide EHS guidance and support.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in technical areas such as OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, NIOSH, ANSI, and ASTM.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading EHS in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, NIOSH, ANSI, and ASTM.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence plant managers, supervisors, and team leaders to lead with safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and near-misses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Hour-General Industry certification.
  • OSHA 30 Hour-Construction certification.
  • NFPA 70e certification.
  • Root Cause Analysis (Cause Mapping/Taproot etc.) certification.
  • Experience in leading culture change.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel up to 15% to sites within assigned region.
