Job Overview

Coburn Place is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and visitors, maintaining a professional and confidential relationship.
  • Handle crisis calls and document incidents, utilizing community resources and referrals as needed.
  • Stay informed about each resident's safety plan and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Represent Coburn Place as the first point of contact, receiving calls, emails, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure the security and safety of residents and visitors by monitoring the facility and grounds, maintaining the visitor/volunteer log, and communicating with staff about any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents during shifts, communicating pertinent information with other staff in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Use good judgment and decision-making skills to address resident needs within Coburn Place policies and procedures.
  • Respond to security, weather, and facility emergencies as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all client, donor, or visitor information and activities.
  • Assist staff with clerical duties, projects, and assignments as needed.
  • Direct donors, prospective donors, and volunteer inquiries to the Development Department.
  • Promote open and supportive communication within departments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school desired.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably in a non-profit setting, desired.
  • Ability to maintain proper boundaries with clients while showing empathy for their domestic violence situation.
  • Ability to maintain rapport with a diverse group of clients, employees, and service providers.
