Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Lead Pack Requirements and System Interactions
  • Support Pack Sizing, DFMEA, Mechanical, Fitment, and Thermal System Interactions
  • Support Battery Functional Safety, Battery Controls, and Specifications
  • Creation and Maintenance of Complete Design Requirement Documents for HV Energy Storage Systems
  • Creation and Maintenance of Relevant System Interface Documents
  • Review of Supplier DFMEAs and Co-Development of HV ESS Functional Safety Requirements and System DFMEAs
  • Creation of Representative ESS Solution Usage Cases for Performance and Life Assessment
  • Preliminary ESS Sizing Estimates for Power and Energy Utilizing Supplier and Internal Test Data
  • Generation of Static Power Capability Maps and Energy Walks for ESS Variants
  • Lead Internal and External Work-Streams to Achieve Timely Execution of Program Deliverables with Good Quality
  • Utilize Engineering Tools and Processes to Successfully Develop and Validate Hardware and Software of the ESS
  • Provide Support During Vehicle Production Launch
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At Least 8 Years of Experience in Product Design/Development
  • At Least 1 Year Leading Others in Engineer/Design Activities
  • OR
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At Least 6 Years of Experience in Product Design/Development
  • At Least 1 Year Leading Others in Engineer/Design Activities
  • OR
  • PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At Least 3 Years of Experience in Product Design/Development
  • At Least 1 Year Leading Others in Engineer/Design Activities

Desired Skills
  • Automotive-Related Engineering Degree (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical)
  • Working Experience with HV Energy Storage Systems for Mobile Applications
  • Working Experience with Relevant Industry Standards (SAE J1939, J1772, ISO15118, ISO 26262, etc.)
  • Working Experience in Following Automotive Product Development Processes and Product Production Launches
  • Experience or Familiarity with Engineering Tools and Software (CANalyzer, Matlab, Polarian, AUROS, XFMEA)
  • Strong Understanding of Basic Electrical Concepts and Computations Applicable to Batteries
  • DFSS Green or Black-Belt Certification Preferred
