Position Overview:
The Textile Specialist in the Housekeeping Division plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional alteration services to guests, staff, and retail outlets. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of various fabric types, styles, and fits, alongside proficiency in operating both industrial and domestic sewing machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute alterations on a variety of linens, such as bed sheets, towels, tablecloths, and curtains, adhering to established quality standards and guest specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and retail outlets to efficiently address alteration requests, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and service industrial and domestic sewing machines, ensuring they are clean, lubricated, and functioning optimally.
  • Monitor inventory levels and procure necessary materials to support alteration tasks.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to guarantee that all alterations reflect superior craftsmanship and accuracy.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while operating sewing machines and related equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, retail outlets, and guests to ascertain alteration requirements and deliver suitable solutions.
  • Keep the workspace organized and tidy, ensuring proper storage of materials and tools.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and techniques in sewing and alterations, integrating them into daily practices as appropriate.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience as a seamstress or tailor, ideally within a hospitality or retail environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of various fabrics, styles, and fits.
  • Skilled in operating both industrial and domestic sewing machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical endurance to stand for prolonged periods and lift heavy items as needed.
