Clinical Professor of Pediatric Nursing (Open Rank)

Location: Philadelphia, PA

The Family and Community Health (FCH) Department within the School of Nursing is actively seeking qualified candidates for a faculty position on the non-tenure practice track in Pediatric Nursing. We encourage individuals with a doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) to consider applying for the associated faculty role (practice track at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level).

Applicants should possess in-depth knowledge in Pediatric Nursing and must be eligible for licensure as a Pediatric Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) in Pennsylvania. Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program is recognized nationally for its comprehensive approach to pediatric primary care. The advanced practice nursing degree is tailored for registered nurses who wish to pursue graduate studies focused on well-child care, illness assessments, health counseling, telephone management, behavioral health issues, research, education, and influencing public policy.

The Clinical Professor will be responsible for teaching in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates should have a background in academic program leadership, curriculum design and evaluation, and experience in teaching through various modalities (didactic, online) while collaborating with an interprofessional team of healthcare professionals. Strong analytical abilities to synthesize complex information from diverse sources are essential. Excellent writing and communication skills are required, along with strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities. Eligibility for nursing registration in Pennsylvania is mandatory, as is the eligibility for CRNP licensure.

Qualifications
Candidates must have academic teaching experience that meets the minimum standards for the Clinical Professor track:
  • Consistently delivers high-quality teaching in pediatric health, as evidenced by peer reviews and student evaluations.
  • Employs innovative teaching and assessment strategies within the curriculum framework established by the School of Nursing.
  • Exhibits leadership in curriculum development initiatives.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge in the subject matter being taught.
  • Contributes significantly to the design, implementation, and assessment of educational programs within the School of Nursing.
  • Shows impact in their area of expertise through a consistent record of publications, consultations, presentations, and participation in local and regional forums.
  • Exhibits excellence in student advising and mentorship.
  • Provides mentorship to faculty in lecturer roles and supports teaching assistants during their residency requirements.
