General Overview of Responsibilities
The Financial Treasury Specialist is responsible for executing complex administrative tasks related to treasury operations, which encompass cash management, investment evaluation, and support for various financial transactions. This role includes maintaining financial documentation, generating reports, and performing other related duties as assigned. The position operates under the limited supervision of the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, process, and analyze all banking and investment activities.
- Monitor daily banking operations for any irregularities, including positive pay and ACH controls.
- Conduct reconciliations for bank and general ledger accounts.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts, focusing on cash and contra cash accounts.
- Calculate cash transfer needs based on inter-fund activity analysis.
- Examine specific bank-related transactions and relay information to relevant officials.
- Assist the Director in the selection of financial investments.
- Support the Director with cash forecasting efforts.
- Prepare and maintain various financial reports, forms, records, and files.
- Provide necessary information for the annual independent audit process.
- Consult with the Director on technical procedures as required.
- Perform additional financial duties or assist with projects as needed.
- Occasionally fulfill the responsibilities of the Accounting Associate.
- Promote a culture of exceptional customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel; solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements; comprehensive knowledge of treasury management policies and procedures; ability to analyze and reconcile bank and ledger accounts; familiarity with bookkeeping terminology and methods; general knowledge of business English and spelling; capability to perform arithmetic computations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; proficiency in operating various accounting, office, and data entry equipment; ability to type at a reasonable speed; effective communication skills in both oral and written forms; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, coordinating agencies, and the public.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Previous experience in treasury or related accounting functions is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position may require occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; regular activities include speaking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks; frequent sitting and repetitive motions; occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting; standard vision requirements apply; vocal communication is necessary for expressing ideas verbally; hearing is essential for understanding spoken information; work involves preparing and analyzing written or computer data; the work environment is typically quiet.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history is required. A favorable background check will be conducted based on local, State, and Federal records.
