The Internet Technologies Quality Engineering & Operations team is on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer in Test to elevate our current automation framework.

Our teams are responsible for designing and developing the foundational communication technologies for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS, specifically for Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.


We are in search of analytical thinkers who will play a crucial role in validating Apple's software releases and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and possess the creativity and inspiration to devise innovative solutions for enhancing product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, your role will involve implementing a variety of automated tests, including functional, performance, reliability, and end-to-end tests, to support our Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.

You will collaborate with various engineering teams during the design phase to develop robust and valuable testing strategies. Engaging in code reviews and design discussions will be essential components of this role.

Moreover, you will create innovative tools aimed at improving our testing efficiency, diagnosing failures, and facilitating effective communication of results through comprehensive reports.

A high level of technical expertise, organization, creativity, motivation, and a passion for achieving results will be vital for success in this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in software development, tools, and automation
- Proficiency in functional or object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, or Swift
- Ability to define, design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks
- Experience with integrated, end-to-end systems and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with testing and automating APIs, UIs, and Native Applications
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and tools
- Highly organized, creative, motivated, and results-driven
- Proficient in refactoring, test automation, emergent design, testable and modular code, and build infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C is advantageous
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our overall compensation package and is determined within a specified range.

This structure allows for growth and development within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with actual base pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
