Job Summary:
Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist to join their team in Bronx, New York. As a key member of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery department, this role will be responsible for coordinating and providing care to patients requiring mechanical cardiac assistance and transplantation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and provide education to ventricular assist device patients and families.
- Coordinate the diverse inpatient and outpatient clinical management of the ventricular assist device population.
- Ensure adherence to protocols and program certification requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
- New York State License for a Registered Professional Nurse and a current registration.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in a highly specialized complex care program preferred.
- Experience in transplant patient care role preferred.
- Current American Board of Transplant Coordinator Certification after 2-3 years of practical experience preferred.
