Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technician to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Polysomnographic Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine polysomnograms and CPAP/BiPAP titrations
  • Prepare patients for tests and obtain relevant information and patient history
  • Operate and maintain sleep lab equipment, including video-monitoring equipment
  • Score sleep records and write informal preliminary reports for physicians
  • Participate in the general flow and operation of the Sleep Lab, including paperwork and quality of recordings
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School diploma and completion of preparation modules for a registration certificate in Polysomnographic Technology (RPSGT or RST)
  • CPR certification
  • RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) or RST (Registered Sleep Technologist) certification within one year of hire
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist will also qualify
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited 2-year program in Electroneuro diagnostics
  • Minimum of four years' experience (including clinical) in the field of sleep disorders
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift from 7:00pm - 7:30am. The schedule will vary depending on the week, but you will be scheduled to work on weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) only every other week.
