Key Responsibilities

  1. Warmly welcome customers and identify their needs regarding dry cleaning, laundry, or alterations.
  2. Clarify dry cleaning methods, available services, and pricing structures to clients.
  3. Check-in garments and items, ensuring accurate tagging for identification and processing.
  4. Examine items for any damages or stains and inform customers of any concerns prior to processing.
  5. Utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system to manage transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
  6. Provide clients with receipts, garment tickets, and estimated return dates for pickups.
  7. Respond to customer inquiries in-person and through phone or email, offering information on services, turnaround times, and garment maintenance.
  8. Keep customers updated on the status of their items as necessary, including any delays or issues.
  9. Address customer complaints and concerns with professionalism, ensuring resolution to maintain satisfaction.
  10. Maintain a tidy and organized front-of-house area, creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  11. Collaborate with back-of-house staff to ensure timely processing and completion of orders.
  12. Monitor inventory and supplies, such as hangers, garment bags, and tags, placing orders as needed.
  13. Promote additional services and special offers to clients.
  14. Follow up with customers to encourage repeat business and gather feedback.
  15. Ensure confidentiality of customer information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in a retail or service setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Familiarity with cash handling and credit card processing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Knowledge of garment care and dry-cleaning services is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
