Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Nurse Trainer to join our team at Concerted Care Group (CCG). As a Regional Nurse Trainer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional training, guidance, and support to nursing staff across multiple facilities within our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Training and Compliance: Train new nurses on proper DEA regulations and medication room procedures at the time of hire. Provide refresher training annually to ensure ongoing compliance with established protocols.
  • Needs Assessment: Assess the training needs of nursing staff through evaluations, surveys, and performance reviews with departmental leaders.
  • Program Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in the healthcare industry.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and support nursing staff in adhering to best practices and quality care standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to nursing staff, including answering questions, offering guidance, and addressing concerns.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with facility leaders and clinical managers to address specific training needs and challenges.
  • Training Development: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing nursing staff on DEA regulations and medication room protocols. Ensure training is up-to-date and meets organizational standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance assessments.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on training outcomes, staff development, and compliance metrics to senior management.
  • Medication Audits: Perform regularly scheduled medication audits at each CCG facility. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and other designated leadership.
  • Compliance: Ensure all nursing practices and medication handling procedures are compliant with DEA regulations and internal policies. Provide ongoing training and updates to staff as necessary.
  • Travel: Travel to different CCG facilities as needed (up to 80% of the time) to provide direct support, cover staffing gaps, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Dispensing and Charge Nursing: When required, take on the responsibilities of a dispensing nurse, including the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications. Step in as a Regional Charge Nurse as necessary, overseeing and managing nursing staff and operations in the absence of the designated charge nurse.
Requirements:
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid and active LPN or RN license in the state of MD, DE or VA (compact license).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in medication dispensing in a DEA licensed NTP or OTP; 5 years preferred.
  • Expertise: Expertise in DEA regulations and medication room management.
  • Personal Qualities: Must not be a person currently or previously dependent on narcotic drugs. Strong instructional and mentoring abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and travel extensively.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between facilities.
