The primary goal of the Transition Teacher is to empower students for life after high school by providing individualized programs that cater to their unique needs and abilities. You will work across various environments, including the classroom, community, and job site, to ensure students receive the support and guidance they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students
- Provide instruction and support in academic, vocational, and life skills to prepare students for post-secondary education and employment
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet their changing needs
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field
- Oklahoma Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Mild/Moderate Special Education or Severe/Profound Special Education
- Three years of experience working in a self-contained special education classroom
- Proficient in EdPlan (state IEP program) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
